Gakuran Fighting Styles: All Styles, Rarities & Perks
Fighting Styles in Gakuran are combat archetypes that change your M1 attack animations and give you passive perks. You obtain a style by rolling — press T to activate your equipped style's special move mid-fight. Styles come in five rarity tiers from Common to Legendary.
Your fighting style determines your M1 animations, special move, and passive combat perks.
All Rollable Styles
The following styles can be obtained through rolling. Roll chances are official from the Gakuran Trello board.
Common (59% chance)
Basic
The starting style most players receive. Despite its name, Basic has a well-rounded perk set that rewards parrying.
- Counterstrike — +5% damage on your next attack after a perfect block (parry)
- Swift Recovery — +15% Posture regeneration rate
- Guard Pierce II — 15% block chip damage (your hits deal 15% chip through opponent's block)
- Resilience II — 25% chance to clash into a grapple when attacked
Basic is a strong starting style. Counterstrike rewards clean parry reads, and Swift Recovery makes your Posture last longer in extended fights.
Uncommon / Rare (30% combined chance)
Muay Thai
A pressure style focused on wearing down opponents' blocking.
- Crushing Force II — +15% Posture damage on block hits (your attacks drain opponent Posture 15% faster when they block)
Muay Thai rewards aggressive playstyles — constant pressure forces opponents into guardbreak situations faster than any other rollable style.
Karate
A parry-synergy style that rewards disciplined, patient play.
- Steady Nerves — +25% Posture regeneration for 3 seconds after a parry
- Balanced Strike — Landing an M2 refunds 25% of your max Posture
Karate is excellent for players who parry frequently. Steady Nerves keeps your Posture topped up after each parry, and Balanced Strike rewards landing heavy attacks.
Epic (10% combined chance)
Boxing
A precision style built around minimizing M2 downtime.
- Perfect Reflex — Parrying reduces your remaining M2 cooldown by 1 second (only triggers when M2 is on cooldown)
